Dear citizens,

I am addressing you today on a matter of great importance that has a direct impact on the future of our educational landscape. In my role as Minister of Education, I am responsible for finding innovative ways to ensure that our children and young people receive the best possible education. The challenges posed by the Second Great Depression require us as a society to make serious decisions that will shape the educational landscape in the long-term.

This letter is to inform you that due to severe budget cuts, all teachers at Pure Tech Secondary School (formerly Downsview Secondary School) will unfortunately have to take a leave of absence. This measure goes hand-in-hand with a groundbreaking change in teaching, as Artificial Intelligence (AI) will take over the roles of teachers at this school from now on. This step marks a paradigm shift in the way we understand and shape education.

This decision may seem drastic at first glance, but it stems from the need to find cost-efficient and forward-looking solutions for our educational institutions. In this context, we have decided to increasingly rely on AI as a resource-saving and innovative alternative. This pioneering decision is based on careful consideration and the firm belief that the technology of the future can transform our educational landscape in the long term.

A central idea behind the integration of AI in education is the saving of space. By digitizing teaching, we are no longer reliant on large-scale school buildings, which in turn frees up space for other important infrastructure and/or housing. This transition allows us to use resources more efficiently and better meet the needs of our society.

The advantages of AI-supported learning compared to traditional learning methods are multifaceted. On the one hand, AI enables the individualized design of learning plans, while tasks can be completed faster and more efficiently, providing immediate feedback to students. Furthermore, the technology enables learning materials to be updated more quickly, more relevantly, and more recently.

Last but not least, AI provides a cost-effective alternative to teaching staff without compromising the quality of teaching. These budget savings can then be invested in other important areas of education. It is also particularly beneficial for small regions where there is a lack of sufficient teaching staff. Pure Tech Secondary School can serve as a pioneering example here.

In summary, the steps we are taking toward AI-powered education are aimed at creating a more modern, efficient, and future-oriented educational landscape. We are convinced that the decision will bring long-term benefits to our society. Your support in this process is of great importance to us and we are open to a constructive dialogue in order to jointly shape the best possible future for our children's education. Please be open-minded to these changes.
