March 19th 2150 Dear Diary,
I just finished school today and it was so boring. I couldn’t really understand what Ms. Traboni was saying because my VR set kept chipping in and out. I told mom last week that it hasn’t been working and she said that she would call and have people come and fix it but no one has come yet. Honestly I don't even think she called them. She’s been really busy lately and hasn’t been home often. I don't think I have even talked to my dad in a week. It feels like he’s been working 24/7. He literally comes home, sleeps for a couple hours and heads back out to work. This leaves me to take care of my younger sister and brother. They’re not too much younger than me, but I just feel responsible for them, especially because my older brother does not seem to care for me or them at all. I took them for a walk earlier today… well I can’t even call it a walk because we stood outside our door for about 2 minutes before coming back inside, but it was refreshing. They’re not of age to go in person for school yet, so they don’t really see the real world. Speaking of school, I get to go in person on Monday and I am so excited. This doesn’t really happen often because even when I can go in person, I normally have to stay home to watch my siblings so mom and dad can work. But this time they said that I can actually go! I finally get to see all my friends and be outside for more than 3 minutes… exciting right!?! I’ll let you know how it goes.
April 26th 2150 Dear Diary,
Wow, it's been a long time… I know… I’m sorry. But life has been crazy lately. So mom last night at dinner announced that she’s pregnant… bummer… I mean yay! I don’t know how to feel. It’s exciting that I’m getting another younger sibling but where will she or he stay? I don’t mean to be rude or anything but there’s enough people in my family as is. On the other hand, this explains why both mom and dad have been working so much. But they did say they had a surprise for us tomorrow, so I wonder what it is. Mom said that she’ll be coming home on maternity leave so now I can go to school every week! Well once everyone like the government says. But as long as I get to go, I’m happy. I was able to talk to my aunt and cousins last night when my mom told them that she was pregnant. I call her my aunt but I’m not entirely sure what she is to me. I just know that way down the line my mom and her are related. Probably our great-great-great-great-great-great- grandparents. They live in another dome but they seem to be living their best life. They seemed a bit disappointed that they won’t get to meet this baby but in my opinion they should be used to it. They never got to meet me either! But it is kind of comforting to know that we do have some family somewhere out there.
April 27th 2150
Dear Diary,
OMGGGG this is the best day of my 14 years of life. So you know how I said mom and dad said they have a surprise for me yesterday. Well guess what! This surprise was even more than I thought it would be. Not only did they tell me that they bought me my own VR system, but we are MOVING!!!! So here’s how this went down. You know how I said dad and mom have been working 24/7 lately. Well I didn’t know that dad worked for a tech company.. You know the ones that build this entire place… yea them. And so they decided to reward dad with a space on the new floor of our building. This means, I finally get my own room and I don't have to share with my brother anymore. He even hugged me and smiled. Then, because of the amount of hours both mom and dad have been working they were able to fix the old VR set for my brother (he has all his games on that one) and they bought me a new VR set. It doesn’t have a bunch of games or anything like that on it, but that doesn’t matter to me. I don't think I have ever been this happy. Today, tomorrow and the next day will be the best days of my life!!!
